We categorize our socks based on how tall they are, so you can easily find the right sock height to match your shoes and activities. We sell every length of sock from the longest, tallest over-the-knee and thigh-high socks down to barely-there no-shows. We use the word “length” or "height" to describe how high a sock rises on the leg, while the sock's size is used to help you decide whether a sock will fit your foot size. For extra-tall socks, look no further than OTK or thigh-high socks. Sometimes these socks are called stockings, especially when they are held up by garters. These super-long socks look great with boots either pulled up or scrunched slightly around the knee. Get noticed by wearing over-the-knee socks with a skirt or dress. You can even wear these tall socks over a pair of tights or leggings to add warmth to your fall or winter look.
Crew is the most common sock length. Crew socks are mid-calf socks that almost everybody likes to wear. They are the best socks to wear with sneakers and jeans and come in so many fun sock designs! Some crew socks are made for performance since it's a great length for athletic socks or cushioned gym socks. Try a pair of wool hiking socks in mini crew or micro crew length (slightly shorter than regular crew) and you will find they make every step a little cozier.
Ankle socks come in two main lengths, the longer quarter socks and the shorter low-cut ankle socks.
Quarter socks are often called shorty socks, anklets or just ankle socks, but compared to the shorter low-cut ankle sock, they are on the longer side. A quarter sock is about half the length of a crew sock — if you think of knee socks as 100% leg coverage and crew socks as 50%, quarter socks are 25% — so, a quarter! Since they are long enough to show a word, saying or design, many of our quarter socks have fun novelty patterns.
This length of ankle sock just barely shows above a pair of sneakers, and sometimes has a tab on the back to keep your heel from rubbing against your shoes. Because they are minimalist and comfortable, ankle socks are a popular choice for athletes who wear these short socks as running socks, cycling socks or workout socks inside their tennis shoes. Ankle-length socks can be awesome athletic socks, but we also offer plenty of cute low-cut ankle socks that look great with flats and heels.
