When you shop with us, together we make a difference. Here are some of the ways:
Our partnership with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, including our ongoing pledge to give 1% of all product sales to the organization, provides a way for us to give back to all of the communities in which we operate and to help address an issue that affects so many lives. We are dedicated to raising awareness of mental health issues and using our “crazy socks” to fight stigma in this world. We report the progress of our giving and our StigmaFree brand partnership with NAMI on our blog and in our email newsletter.
We were excited to help Fountain House with a donation of 600 pairs of socks for gift bags at a fundraiser 5K on Sept. 24, 2022. Fountain House pioneered the "clubhouse model," a method of helping people with serious mental illness by building social connections, providing education and job training and harnessing each person's individual strengths to create a thriving, supportive community.
Our business is the leading sponsor of the Stigma Stomp, an annual fun run/walk put on by our local NAMI chapter, NAMI Whatcom. Every year since 2021, we have supported the event with a monetary donation, as well as joining in the fun and doing our part to stomp out mental health stigma alongside friends, family and our community of fellow mental health advocates!
In addition to giving 1% for mental health, we engage in numerous other local and regional efforts through our in-kind donations. From organizations that provide socks to people in need, to those that use them in their fundraising, here is a list of some of the groups we support:
We are happy to provide limited quantities of novelty socks for nonprofit fundraising events. If you would like to request a donation for your organization's event, please fill out our contact form with a message that includes the date of the event, the name of your organization and its 501c3 tax ID number. We ask that you give us at least two weeks' notice before you plan to pick up the donated items at our Bellingham sock store.
